With 40 years of experience as a managing in the cultural sector, I help cities and cultural organizations further in their development. As an advisor and as a director. My specialty and passion is developing a cultural program that is closely linked to the character and image of the city. This makes activities more meaningful for visitors.

As managing director of Rotterdam Festivals, I was responsible for the festival policy of the city of Rotterdam for more than 25 years and, under the brand name Uitagenda Rotterdam, for optimizing the public reach of the cultural sector.

We successfully worked on strengthening thematic clusters around Art Rotterdam, North Sea Jazz festival and Wereldhavendagen. We were also closely involved in special events such as the MTV European Music Awards, the Eurovision Song Contest, Rotterdam Culturele Hoofdstad 2001, the prologue of the Tour de France and the spectacular stairs to the roof of the Groothandelsgebouw.

After leaving Rotterdam Festivals, I worked as a consultant for the municipality of Rotterdam (future of Museum Rotterdam), the city of Prague, Czech Republic (white paper 'How festival can contribute to the cultural policy of Prague'). The island of Malta and the municipalities of Zwolle, Tilburg and Breda. Sometimes in collaboration with colleagues from my international network.

Before the establishment of Rotterdam Festivals in 1994, I was Deputy Director of De Rotterdamse Kunststichting.
